Zelda: Echoes - Lord Jabu Jabu Boss Guide

Lord Jabu Jabu makes a return in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Players will recognize the aquatic deity from Ocarina of Time when they enter his belly to rescue the Zora Princess.
However, he’s not in his usual state due to the Still World’s influence, making him act strangely. This encounter can be challenging and confusing.

Overview of the Battle with Lord Jabu Jabu

You must defeat Jabu Jabu to access the Jabul Waters Temple, as he guards the entrance, which is blocked by a rift. Once inside the boss room, Kushara and Dradd attempt to appease Jabu Jabu and calm him down. They try playing a tune together, but Zelda steps in and takes on the task.
She enters the water and is trapped by an invisible barrier, leaving Dradd and Kushara unable to help. This is where the real fight begins.

Defeating Jabu Jabu

As the cutscene ends, Jabu Jabu unleashes a powerful jet of water, launching fish enemies, wooden boats, and lily pads. He then vanishes and reappears on the left side of the arena, signaling the start of his attack.
While Jabu Jabu is preparing his attack, swim to one of the boats, beds, or crates floating in the water and hop aboard. Many of your usual echoes won’t work in this environment, as non-aquatic creatures will drown. Other echoes like Chompfin aren’t available yet.
This leaves Zelda and her Swordfighter form to handle most of the combat. Be sure to constantly circle around Jabu Jabu’s open mouth, as it can inflict significant damage quickly. Use your power wisely and slash at Jabu Jabu’s head until he retreats back into the rift.
Jabu Jabu will return to the center of the arena and attempt to suck Zelda and everything around her into his mouth. You need to immediately summon a Bombfish echo and make sure it goes into his mouth to avoid being trapped.
After the Bombfish explodes, Jabu Jabu will be stunned and you can damage him. He will eventually recover and fill the arena with new enemies and platforms.
Jabu Jabu will become more aggressive as he takes damage, but the battle remains the same. Keep throwing Bombfish and attacking with Zelda's sword to win.
